In a world where ideas have been sidelined under a growing belief that the world can be changed by things rather than by ideas, Vicharnyas is a modest attempt to re-emphasise the value of ideas in both understanding, and changing society, culture and politics. Without thinking deeply and critically nothing can be changed. Ultimately the dynamics of ideas largely govern the social, the cultural, the political, and the economic dynamics. Ideas are a great intellectual and spiritual resource. Vicharnyas, an open forum of liberal viewpoints in all their plurality and complexity, endeavours to

  • Rehabilitate ideas in the present social dynamics.
  • Regenerate interest in intellectual dialogue and exchange.
  • Emphasise that ideas come from not only intellectual disciplines such philosophy, metaphysics etc but also from science, both pure and social, as also from creative fields such literature and the arts.
  • Vindicate that plurality of ideas is crucial to the survival of human diversity.
Think India quarterly is a journal devoted to ideas in many disciplines and areas of human intellectual and creative endeavour with accent on contemporary issues facing India as it grows, changes and moves towards occupying a place of attention and inspiration in the global map of reflection and creativity. It is an open forum which allows for liberal interplay of and dialogue amongst many viewpoints, ideological stands and visions of or about the contemporary dynamics of change.
